Round-up by The Fem Word Co-Founder Monika Samtani
My life is what you would call the perfect example of what it’s like to be a female entrepreneur. In other words, it’s crazy! I’m 50 (well 51), only have one of my three kids left at home (yes, I drive him around to school and his activities while taking calls in the car), and juggle life in general while making executive business decisions at all hours of the day... and night.
In light of that, here are my holiday gift picks for busy badass bosses everywhere!
Instant Pot available at Williams Sonoma - $99.95
I’ve always been a career woman. For 25+ years, I was a reporter/anchor in major media market. I got up at 2 AM for my shift and came home in the afternoon to my other full-time job -- raising three kids. Aside from the amount of sleep I managed to catch, the only thing that ever suffered were my cooking skills. I’m not a bad cook -- I can follow recipes just fine -- but I definitely did not get my mom’s touch in the kitchen. IOW... I am not a chef.

Well, I discovered the Instant Pot and my life has changed. I even get compliments from my kids at dinner and am having fun with cooking (what?!). The Instant Pot is easy, perfect for healthy dishes, and quick. Every meal comes out delicious, and you can make practically anything in it. I even have a WhatsApp group that shares recipes!
The Instant Pot comes in different sizes. For a family of 4-6 (like mine), I recommend the 6 quart.
"Indian Instant Pot Cookbook" by Urvashi Pitre - $10.82

"The Essential Instant Pot Cookbook" by Coco Morante - $12.81

Going with the Instant Pot trend... my favorite recipe books are The Essential Instant Pot Cookbook by Coco Morante and Indian Instant Pot Cookbook by Urvashi Pitre. I also like Rebecca Katz’s site, which has a ton of suggestions for best practices.
Magic Candle by House of Intuition - $16
Another thing that many busy business owners like myself come to realize is there’s very little time to ‘just be.’ Also: that work-life balance is tough but doable. I've learned that it’s important to make the time to bring calm into my life.
I credit my daughter, Natasha (co-founder of The Fem Word) for introducing me to House of Intuition. The founders wanted to create "spiritual practices to bring healing, perspective and light into their lives. They dreamt about creating a space that could provide tools to empower others in the same way".
I especially enjoy House of Intuition's candles. You can perform a small but special ritual to light them: with a short meditation and your intention in mind. I love the idea of gifting these to myself and others who may want the magic of positivity, gratitude, strength, and other beautiful and inspiring messages in their lives. That message is exactly what The Fem Word stands for!
For my fellow #BadAssBossLadies out there, enjoy the holidays! The Fem Word team wishes you all good things in 2019.
